# Opifico > Opifico is a cutting-stock optimizer for workshops: it plans which boards, sheets, bars and tubes to cut, in what order, with the least waste. It does 1D linear cutting, 2D sheet nesting (guillotine panel-saw layouts and free-form CNC router / laser nesting) and whole-project solving, for wood, sheet metal, steel and aluminium bar and tube, and T-slot extrusion, including mitred ends. It runs in the browser at https://opifico.com and is also an MCP server and REST API that AI agents can call. Opifico is for woodworkers, cabinetmakers, furniture makers, metal fabricators, aluminium-frame builders and CNC / laser operators who have a cut list and a stock of boards, sheets or bars. Guests use the web app with no account; signing in syncs inventory, supplier list, projects and settings across devices and adds a prepaid USD balance. All dimensions the solvers and agent tools work in are millimetres (the web app can display cm, m, in or ft). Prices are in US dollars; there are no credits. Do not guess cutting layouts yourself: the problem is NP-hard. Call `opifico_cutting_estimate` (free) and `opifico_cutting_solve` (billed) through MCP, or use the web app. ## What it does - [Linear cutting (1D)](https://opifico.com/1d-solver): cut lengths from planks, dowels, flat bar, round bar, square tube, round tube and T-slot extrusion. Options: blade kerf, trim edges, minimum leftover, offcut length filter, mitre cuts (angled ends that share cuts), cheapest stock mix. - [Sheet nesting (2D)](https://opifico.com/2d-solver): sheet goods (plywood, MDF, panels) and sheet metal. Guillotine (panel saw) or free-form (CNC router, laser, plasma) cut patterns; priority, Pro search, grain direction, trim edges, edge banding, cheapest stock mix. - [Project Solver](https://opifico.com/project-solver): solve every stock class of a saved project in one run, with per-class cutting setup, supplier sourcing and combined reports. - [Inventory](https://opifico.com/inventory) and [Suppliers](https://opifico.com/supplier): your stock rack and the sizes and prices your supplier sells; the solvers can cut from inventory, from one-off entered stock, or buy best-fit sizes from the supplier list. - [Projects library](https://opifico.com/projects): folders and projects, per-project CSV export/import, library JSON backup. ## Guide (in-app documentation) - [Guide: workflow](https://opifico.com/guide?tab=workflow): from stock to cut list, stock sources, pricing and what signing in adds. - [Guide: pages](https://opifico.com/guide?tab=pages): what every page does. - [Guide: solvers](https://opifico.com/guide?tab=solvers): every 1D, 2D and Project Solver option and its default. - [Guide: files and formats](https://opifico.com/guide?tab=files): CSV import and export, spreadsheet paste, project library JSON, PDF, DXF, panel-saw CSV, Homag PTX, labels. - [Landing page](https://opifico.com/landing): product overview and live price list. ## AI agents: MCP and REST - [llms-full.txt](https://opifico.com/llms-full.txt): the complete agent reference: all 11 MCP tools with parameters, billing, limits, errors and worked examples. - [MCP manifest](https://opifico.com/.well-known/mcp.json): machine-readable server description (endpoint, transport, auth, tools). - [OpenAPI 3.1 spec](https://api.opifico.com/api/agent/spec): REST tools for ChatGPT Actions and custom clients (estimate, solve, wallet balance, wallet top-up). - [Pricing JSON](https://api.opifico.com/api/pricing): live prices, free-tier limits, Pro triggers and top-up packs. - [Agent skill](https://api.opifico.com/skills/opifico-cutting/SKILL.md): SKILL.md for clients that load skills from a folder (Claude Code, Claude apps); the same workflow is in the MCP `initialize.instructions`. Connect an MCP client: - Server URL: `https://api.opifico.com/mcp` (MCP streamable HTTP, JSON responses; `POST` only). - Sign-in (OAuth 2.1, recommended): add the URL as a custom connector in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor. The client opens Opifico, the user signs in and approves; no key is copied and access can be revoked in Settings, Account, Connected apps. - API key (clients without OAuth): send `Authorization: Bearer sk-wood-live-...` to the same URL. The user creates the key in Settings, Account after signing in at https://opifico.com; it is shown once and a new key replaces the old one. - Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http opifico https://api.opifico.com/mcp` - Cursor `.cursor/mcp.json`: `{ "mcpServers": { "opifico": { "url": "https://api.opifico.com/mcp" } } }` Capabilities: `tools` and `resources` (projects as `opifico://projects/{id}`, solution PDFs as `opifico://solutions/{id}/pdf`). Tools (all names prefixed `opifico_`): `inventory_get`, `inventory_update`, `supplier_get`, `supplier_update`, `projects_list`, `project_get`, `project_save`, `project_delete`, `cutting_estimate` (free), `cutting_solve` (billed), `cutting_wallet_balance`. ## Pricing Single source: `config/pricing.json`, served live at https://api.opifico.com/api/pricing. USD, prepaid balance shared by the web app and AI agents, never expires; a solve that finds no solution is refunded in full. - Free tier (web app, no account needed): 1 material group, up to 5 stock sizes, 15 part rows, 500 pieces, Standard options only, 20 free solves per UTC day (per IP and per account). AI agents always pay from their balance. - Standard solve: $0.10 per material for 1D (a material is one material in one thickness or size). 2D is priced per material by piece count: up to 50 pieces $0.20, 250 $0.50, 1,000 $1.00, 2,500 $2.00, 5,000 $3.50, 10,000 $5.00. - Pro solve: 1D $0.30 per material; 2D adds a flat $0.30 to the piece-count price. Pro options: Pro search (2D guillotine), cutting priority other than Balanced (2D guillotine), free-form nesting (2D), cheapest stock mix (1D and 2D). A solve that uses a Pro option is never free. - Top-up packs: Starter Pack $5 gives $5.00; Maker Pack $10 gives $11.00; Workshop Pro $25 gives $30.00. Top-ups are non-refundable except where the law requires. ## Files and formats - Import: inventory CSV (`type, material, length, width, thickness, quantity, price, description, diameter, wallThickness`; also angleLeft/angleRight), project library JSON, spreadsheet paste into the 1D, 2D and project parts tables. - Export: inventory CSV, per-project CSV, library JSON, PDF cutting plans (1D, 2D, whole project), DXF (R2010, millimetres, layered), panel-saw CSV, Homag PTX (Cut Rite V11, guillotine layouts only), part labels PDF (Zebra/Dymo 100x50 mm roll, Zebra 100x70 mm roll, A4 3x7 sticker sheet; Code128 or QR). - Stock classes and CSV `type` names: `sheet`, `rectangular`, `dowels`, `sheetMetal`, `flatBar`, `round`, `squareTube`, `roundTube`, `extrusion`. ## Legal and contact - [Terms of Service](https://opifico.com/terms): prepaid balance, refunds for failed solves, commercial use. - [Privacy Policy](https://opifico.com/privacy) - [Workshop safety disclaimer](https://opifico.com/disclaimer): layouts are a mathematical guide; the operator is responsible for safe cutting. - [Open-source licenses](https://opifico.com/licenses) - [Contact and feedback](https://opifico.com/contact): support@opifico.com ## Optional - [Full agent reference](https://opifico.com/llms-full.txt) - [Sitemap](https://opifico.com/sitemap.xml)
